Offered by an independent furniture expert, this service includes an in-home inspection of your DFS upholstered furniture. You’ll receive transparent guidance on care options, statutory rights, and Sofacare package benefits to support your furniture’s longevity.

The expert may identify issues covered by DFS’s retailer guarantees or the Sofacare package, and can recommend maintenance, cleaning, and care strategies to keep your furniture in excellent condition.

This independent service works seamlessly alongside the Sofacare package, enabling the technician to highlight and guide you toward any benefits your Sofacare package may include, if applicable.

It’s a valuable option for anyone looking to maximise their furniture’s durability and maintain its quality through trusted, unbiased advice and support.

How does it work?

It’s easy – simply contact Guardsman to book an appointment for your local, independent expert furniture repair technician to visit your home to carry out the multipoint sofa check.

This service must be booked between the 30-42 month period from the date of your furniture being delivered. 

What is included?

This multipoint health check is to ensure your new furniture is performing as expected, so the expert technician will check the following points and areas.  

He will conduct a visual check and overview of the following items:

    Frame and suspension

   Cushions and soft furnishings

   Upholstery covering

   Stitching and accessories

   Motion and mechanisms

   Protection and prevention

   Care and cleaning

   Repairs and Restoration

What isn't included?

    Accidental stains and accidental damage 

These single unforeseen incidents are what the separate Sofacare insurance plan will cover you for.  Please refer to the Sofacare terms and conditions which are on the back of your sales invoice. 

   General cleans repairs and maintenance 

The general cleaning care and maintenance of your furniture is down to you. However, our technician may advise you to have your furniture professionally cleaned or on general care and maintenance tips. These extended services that all consumers are expected to upkeep will help prolong your furniture’s life and keep it looking its best for longer. 

How do I purchase?

Great news! Sofacheck is automatically included with your Sofacare package. So if you've purchased the Sofacare insurance, you'll benefit from this service at the same time. 

IMPORTANT: Even if you've placed the order online, or instore already don't worry - as long as your furniture hasn't been delivered they can add it to your order. 

 

How do I book an appointment?

There are couple of things to check before you can make an appointment:

  Have you purchased the DFS Sofacare package (it will show on your DFS invoice)

 Is your furniture within 30-42 months old (from date of delivery not date of purchase).
